Yesterday we celebrated by brother Andrew's birthday by stopping by for a visit and a little early dinner. Before we left though, I did pull out the camera (my way of getting used to it again) and snapped a few of the boys. Tyler was interested in the lense, because I think he saw the shutter open and close. Though the pictures taken look more like he is some SUPA-STAHHHH and he's blocking the papp from taking any photos!
Kelly purchased matching Dad and Me Cubs hats for Andrew and the twinkies. Look how cute they are!
Happy Birthday Day Andrew! You are the coolest, bestest brother a girl can have! = )
Not that barefeet any other day of the year arent my favorite, they are REALLY my favorite now. I've been reduced to wearing my flip flops to work on most days!
Here are some shots of the nursery at this point. I need to add a mirror over the dresser, a mirror that's been in the family for 30 or so years, I am sure. Apparently my father's mother purchased the mirror as a housewarming gift. Its currently with my brother for new hanging hardware. I kept things simple, as usual. No need for too much when the bean isnt even going to notice!
*this is where i need to add a couple of pictures or artwork, once i find them!*
*i think my fear of not having enough diapers can be calmed for now!*
*some of the toys are from my childhood*
*and the valances, but couldnt have this room decorated without a pic of the beans maternal great grandparents looking out for him, keeping him company.*
Today, Mom and I went over to my brothers to babysit the twinkies while he was at school and my sister-in-law volunteered. The boys were so much fun! Charlie even walked up to me looking for a hug. What a little cutie! I still cant get over how well they played together. There was only one argument over a toy. That's when Grandma stepped in and distracted them with something else.
They really enjoyed the blocks and putting them together. Tyler wanted the blocks out, by reaching into the basket holding the top open with his head! Then when the bag was sitting out, Charlie wanted to move it to the table. Innovative little buggers!
*you can see Charlie doing his best to carry the bag, Grandma helping*
My favorite is of the two of them hanging out at the front door, just scoping out the hood.
I am a BIG music person. Its always playing when I am home, in the car, exercising, at work, when hanging out with friends, etc. Its no surprise to me that I have quite the collection of lullabye music for the bean. I am thinking he will have the same appreciation for music. (His father is a 'rock' kind of guy. Plus he played the trumpet and piano for several years)
This morning, while taking a 'break' from reorganizing the closets - a task that I dread - I put together a playlist for the bean. I cant wait for him to hear it.

I've been quite lazy with the camera lately. Not sure exactly why, probably because the winter blahs kicked in and then there really hasnt been much going on, but then again there is. Who knows at this point. I do know that I need to get comfortable with holding the thing again. Come May, I'll probably need to surgically remove it from my hand to tend to the bean.
Here's a picture from today, Easter Sunday, celebrating with family at Mom's. As you can tell the twinkies were not at all interested in sitting still for a photo. Tyler especially. But we did get this quick one ... a nice photo to wrap up a very nice day.
Spring is here, its Easter weekend and there are fresh lovely smelling flowers in my house. I had the front window open with the breeze flowing through the house, the fresh smell from these pink beauties made the house smell wonderful.
Right now most everything is in 'wait' mode. I feel like life sometimes passes me by while here waiting. Though this time, I am waiting for the miracle growing in my belly, causing all sorts of acid reflux, to finally come into this world and into my life. I need to embrace these last few weeks of solitude. Enjoy them.
I am nervous about having to share my life, though its something I've always wanted. Can I do it? Can I make the room for someone else? Especially someone who is dependent on me for survival? I imagine my own survival mode will kick in, and all will be well, but its nerve-wracking for me not knowing.
Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy all the chocolate bunnies and peeps your teeth and stomach can handle!
