The Great Redesign of '09.

I mentioned it in a previous post, with a picture of the new master bath faucet. I should now delve into the details.

I have been torn about moving to a new house. The feelings of leaving my very first home, trying to find the next home that would have good karma, good neighborhood, in my price range, with the same amount of space, etc. left me with massive headaches. So to resolve the issue, I've decided to redecorate the entire house.

With the economy the way it is and not appearing to be getting better any time soon and the housing market not the best either, I figure I'd be at this address for atleast for an additional two to five years. I am okay with it since I plan to still be socializing with the same friends, who live in the area, and seeing the same family, who also live in the area and working at the same place, which is not a horrific commute. So, really, why do I need to move?

Redecorating seems to be the best answer. Its also the easiest thing to do ... a gallon of good paint runs about $30. That $30 can make one room look completely different, as if I lived in a new house.

The plan.
-Paint all the trim and doors in the house white, from cheap builders fake oak wood.
-Replace the master bath faucet, light fixture and shower rod.
-New shower curtain and decorative towels for master bath.
-New pictures for master bath.
-Paint kitchen cabinets.
-Add counter extension/shelf in kitchen/dining area to serve as desk. Add bar stool.
-Replace window treatments in kitchen.
-Replace window treatmens in living room.
-Paint kitchen table + chairs.
-Update office/computer area with new wall decorations.
-Install fence in yard.
-Replace window treatments in master bedroom.

Plus, update all electronics. I had to buy a new camera recently because the zoom broke on my old camera. I am in the process of looking for a new phone as the vibrate feature no longer works on my current phone, which can be disturbing when in meetings. My current computer, poor old soul, is dying. Crashed three times on Sunday morning. Dell has a President's Day sale, upgraded to a laptop for a relatively cheap price. Let's hope this laptop lasts 5 years, just as my current computer has. I am thinking I will enjoy this new laptop, as it will be pink.

You'd think I came into some money recently. Well, I did. IRS. 'nuff said. And Yes, Mom, I am saving half of it.

  2. I love my pink laptop! I've been getting into a bad habit of having it with me while I sit in bed and watch tv before calling it a night...well that only leads to me staying up later than I need to be! Yikes!
    Thanks for visiting!
